If you download Demo Manual Adobe Acrobat Reader Has more about it. VOICE CHAT Overview Voice chat allows you to communicate with other players during a match by speaking into a microphone connected to your sound card. Other players with voice chat enabled can hear your transmissions and respond. Voice chat greatly enhances team play and coordination in UT2004 games by making it much easier to communicate. By communicating directly to your teammates (“There’s an enemy ambush waiting just outside our door on the left side!â€), you can give more specific information to others than was possible in previous Unreal games. |

I'm still fiddling around with the game's settings in the demo. Yesterday I realized I should turn on 3D Hardware sound because my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz will support it. I got a massive improvement. Anyone know if EAX is unique to Creative sound cards? Or will my Turtle Beach card support it? :?: I read in the readme somewhere that the textures in the demo are only half what they will be in the game. That's good, because I'm not impressed with what I'm seeing. They look so original UT in tone. In fact, as it stands right now I'm getting better textures in UT thanks to the texture set on the second CD, and the improved OpenGL driver Jarg told us about. :o I'm going to have to do some serious modifying of the keys for the weapons, as I see they've changed which default key summons which weapon yet again. However the new improved flak cannon really rocks! :D Anyone found a redeemer in anywhere in the demo? |

No redeemer yet but yes, I noticed the game ran smooth as silk. Better than my UT2K3. That explains why I guess. I have to really say that I think they really did this one right not including the non backward compatability. It just feels so much better than UT2K3 does. The timing appears to have been corrected or something. The guns shoot the ammo faster too I think? Way to go Epic! I need to check out a forum and see if other people like it too. I bet there are a ton of them whinning about who knows what. I'll check that out soon. |

Looked up the system requirements for UT2004. Looks like I will be out of the loop on this one. Minimum requirement is a 1 Ghz processor! I think that mine is somewhere around 800 mhz. Played the demo without any problems. Looked fun. :( |

Too bad mutators are disabled in the demo. I wanted to put Clems magic redeemer mod up on a test server. I'll betcha that this one will be game that breaths new life into the redeemer arena. |

f using a 3D sound accelerator such as the Sound Blaster Audigy series sound card, you can go into "Options/Audio" to enable EAX by selecting the "Hardware 3D Sound + EAX" options. You need to upgrade to the latest version of Sound Blaster Audigy drivers in order to get acceptable 3D sound performance. Using Unreal Tournament 2004 in conjunction with earlier versions of the drivers MAY cause severe performance problems (major slowdowns in the order of 30-50% while playing sound) in which case you should change the option back to the default "Software 3D Audio". If your computer is hooked up to a 5.1 speaker system, you should go into "Options" and turn on "Hardware 3D Audio" to take advantage of 360-degree sound panning, which rocks. There also is a safe mode available in case you run into any audio related problems like glitches/ hitches/ static or bad performance if sound is enabled. _____________________________________________________ WHERE GET THIS UPDATES FROM ????????? |

Before I took my PC apart to have it shipped back for capascitor replacements and other hardware, I played the UT24K with eax. It worked as well as it does on UT2K3. I have the Audigy2 sound card. It rules! I turned everything I could to as high as I could and it ran flawlessly. We'll see what happens when the full version comes out with bigger textures and all. So far, I think I'll be able to run it pretty well. I just have to wait a few weeks to get my system back first. |
