I ahve felt a small earthquake once while in the mountains. It shook the house for a second. You will laugh, but I thought it was a tree that fell on the house. I can only imagine what a REAL quake would be like.

About 15 years ago there was a 3.5 earthquake out in Lake Ontario. It happened about 5 in the morning. When it started I thought a heavy truck was driving by the house, the windows were vibrating so. Then the vibration kept getting worse. I heard a roof beam crunch, and just as I jumped out of bed in alarm, it stopped. My mother was out of bed too, and we waited to see if there would be any after shocks. There weren't, but my mother was upset to see that all the cracks in the plaster that had occured due to the house settling on the foundations over the years had opened up again, putting her recent repairs to naught. There was also one very nasty crack in the plaster in the living room that was new, and turned out to be a tough repair for amateurs. :?

My Dad slept through the whole thing.

lol Jarg.

I escaped Cuddyfohnya just in time to miss the 6.5! Was driving through the Oregon Siskiyou Pass at the time.

I'm not sure about this, but I think under the vinyl siding of this new house, there is red brick. That is not so good, eh?

Still no DSL, but soon I'll be bringing a little new year's nuclear love.

Let's rock!

It is not quite as flexible as wood :-) It breaks and falls on you whereas wood would flex.
