There are so many out there!

Are you thinking of starting another CG2 to play stuff like these in?
I'm always up for something different.

I'm trying to open up the monster hunt thread to check out that mutator. Man, that forum is slow! :|

I spent over an hour, more like two, downloading the monster hunt mutator from a painfully slow website. I got a couple of map packs from a Japanese website. The bots are dumb! No help at all. I've played only one map that I like so far in practice mode, but it was cool. :|

Only saw three servers up online. One's in Japan. :?

I really just posted because I was wondering if anyone thought any of these sounded good or had tried them. A few sounded good to me. I'm not planning anything for CG until APril and even then the only thing that will change are maps. I may have access to another cableconnection then too and I may throw up another server but I doubt it at this point. CG has done exactly what it was created for. It's a good server overall so I'm leaving it alone mostly. I will download some of these mods for my own private entertainment and just plain checking out.

*whew* I just spent a few hours playing 3 maybe 4 maps on the "Monsters!" server. Each map takes upwards of an hour to complete. One was a pain in the ass, having to run around and swim in confusing corridors. I had to follow the other players on the team who knew where they were going, and some won't wait up for you. If you die too many times you're "out", and have to reconnect to the server if you want to continue in the action. Theoretically the person with the most kills at the end of the map "wins", but it's really a team effort. The final level bosses are very tough, and when there were only two of us, it took forever to kill them off. :?

If anyone wants the mod and the patch, I will gladly email it to you. It's hard to find, and was a long download.
Here's a link to a thread about the mod, you can find the map packs here from the site in Japan. MONSTER HUNT

While I don't think this will replace redeemering for me, this mod does make an interesting change, and it's fun to play when there's a lot of team mates to work with. :)

The "Who Pushed Me?" mutator would work well on certain maps. I also think "Soul Harvest" would make for some interesting strategy and game play.

WELL

One unpleasant experience tonight on the Monsters! server. I went into the game wearing my usual sunburst skin, and a player named {Sex}Camo started mouthing off about someone wearing a skin hack. It took me a moment or few to realize she was talking about ME. I guess she assumed it was some sort of cheat skin, -although why someone would be a dork enough to wear an obvious one, I just don't know.
When I pointed out that the skinchanger was very popular at the servers I frequent, her reply was a dirty laugh.
Then she started telling me all about how she was an admin at seven different Australian servers, and she knew a skin hack when she saw one. And that I should be banned.

I disconnected and deactivated the skin changer mod. Then I reconnected. I got some more very foul language from Ms. Know-it-all, but she finally accepted my presence when she saw that swearing at me wouldn't drive me away.

So don't wear your custom skins there guys. I still recommend the mod and the server. It seems that you will play with people from all over the world on it, even more so than we usually see at CG and NWRO. That's the first time I've ever played with Australians, too bad I got off on the wrong foot with Ms. foot-in-mouth-disease.
