Hi all,

Wife and I are flying up tomorrow to finish painting and to try to get carpets into the downstairs rooms. We are only there until Tuesday, so we need a place with fast turnaround time.

Jarg, Lowes and Home Depot have a sale that ends today -- free pad with carpet. Know if they will have another sale on carpets soon? Also, will Lowes give 10% with a new Lowes card and allow me to stack another 10% with a relocation coupon?

Frugal Mah

If you got the time a small carpet contractor can can usually kick ass on Lowes and Home Depot. My rental house in Fremont need new pad and carpet through out. Used Home Depot for the initial choice should the contractor what I wanted and saved about $1,000 on 115.33 yards of carpet and 1/2" 8lb pad. The heavy pad really adds to comfort, warmth and the life of the carpet. I used Universal Floor Covering, Inc. don't know if they have a division up that way or not. If they do don't tell them they saved me a $1000

Good luck, Skank

I'm sure that carpets will be on sale in the Spring, but I'm not sure about soon.

They should, but if they do not, you tell them that you know a personal friend of Larry Stone. That should get you some attention. He is Vice President of the company and over all store operations. Of course, I have never met him, but if you drop his name in Seattle, the Manager should pay attention. Plus, I can easily get in touch with him. Trust me, Lowe's big push is to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. If you get bad service at a Lowe's Home Improvement store, send me an e-mail. I will forward it to Larry's people.
