Post subject: | Question for the Tec Crew |
I have a recurring problem with Outlook Express (running under Windows ME). From time to time, I am not able to view attachments from other people (but can send them without any problems). The attachment will appear as a ".email" file, regardless of whether it is a picture, sound file, etc. Everything was working fine again until last night. I think that either Windows or Norton updated itself and changed something. Any suggestions for correcting this? |

Go to outlook then .Go to tools look for options it will bring up box with different tads. Find Secunity. Make sure that box is uncheck for this ( Do not allow attachments to be save or opened that could potentially be a virus.) Somebody told me and I don't remember who it was So thank them not me.I got this new computer i couldn't open attachments either. If that not it.I don't have clue. Who every it was it was big help for me. |

Hmm. A . email file? Sounds strange. Can you change the file type to anything else? For a picture, can you save it as a .jpg and view it? |

The box was already unchecked. Also, telling the computer to open as a specific file type doesn't work either. I don't know what the file is to start with. I have tried to get someone to send me a picture file, then told windows to open it with my picture viewer. Didn't work. Getting majorly frustrated here. :-x :-x :-x |

I would've thought the same as Sci. Anyone else have any ideas? Maybe your antivirus software? |
