UT2K4 will be totally backward compatable with UT2K3. I here they have fixed the vehicles too so now you can drive, fly etc.

I will not be rushing out to by this thing at all. I'm still waiting for them (Mac) to port OSX to the Original UT still. Damn them but I love my Mac. It hasn't crashed once yet. The quick setup guide was about 7 pictures with no words. They were of:

1 Taking out of box
2 Plug in speakers
3 plug in keyboard
4 Plug in network cable
5 Plug in mouse
6 Plug in printer
7 Push power button

DONE! I swear it was that easy. I sent off a message to Ryan Gordan (the guy who ported Mac OSX to UT2K3) today reminding that he said last May that he was going to port over UT once and for all to OSX. Bless him!

Setting up my new XP Dell was pretty much that easy too. In fact, the hardest part was getting the Harmon Kardon speakers out of their smallish box. Man, they were packed in there tightly.

When is it coming out? Is it free? Will there be a demo?

UT2004 is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas, meaning November or December. UT2004 is a stand-alone retail product, but Atari may be offering a rebate to people who already purchased UT2003. Mark Rein has confirmed there will indeed be a UT2004 demo, and that this demo will contain Onslaught mode (but not Assault).

Herm that how easy was my gateway was to set up....................
