That was a really good trailer Maximus. Thanks for posting. I can't wait for it either. This is going to be one of the busiest 2nd quarters ever for the movie makers I think. I believe that Lord of the Rings III gets released at the end of this year along with Starwars III and Matrix III. I can't wait. Someone chime in with the exact date for the Star Wars release. |

Thought the topic of this one was "D&D Geek." I was hoping to reminisce about the good old days of playing when I was in high school, etc. :D As far as Star Wars, it doesn't come out this year. They have finished principle photography, but still have to do all of the effects, editing, and re-shoots (I'm your man when it comes to film info, especially on this one). |

Ok Mort lets Reminisce. I was I big D&D dork as well. My chartacters mostly leaned towards the Chaotic Evil end of the spectrum. Almost always a fighter or fighter/Mage. Mostly human but on occasion half-orc. Of course once I realized how much more fun it was being a DM and playing GOD I flipped to the other side of the DM screen. I got the most enjoyment out of rolling for damage with a 30 sided dye I had whenever one of my players got to outta hand. |

Hey, I made my saving throw.... I remember D & D. I enjoyed playing dwarves. I used to play TMNT WAY before they were popular. I really loved the Hero System. Damn, I am a geek... For you old D & D players, here is a game that may appeal to you. I almost got it, but decided on Halo instead. This one will bring back memories. http://www.greyhawkgame.com/ |

Wasn't Baldur's Gate based on D&D games? Because of its high ratings, I bought and played that one, but it was so slow and boring that I never finished it. What a yawn fest! |

I've actually never went in for the RPG style Video games. The whole point of playing D&D was the fact that you were using your imagination. i made the mistake of purchasing Baldur's gate and also found it lacking. My brother on the other hand plays nothing but these RPG style games. thanks for lookin out though Jarg. i know your just trying to get rid of me so there is more fresh meat for you here. |

I played it back in 5th grade up to 8th or so. I had a DM that ran the rounds at the D&D fest each year. He was awesome and really brought out the imagination. He slowly moved us off of D&D to a game called Travelers that was the same thing but in the future. We spent many a weekends up all night playing with a group of 4-10. Good times back then but looking back, it was the innocence of ignorance that made it work. Now I'd be far to detailed to be able to imagine anything good. I stuck with Dwarfs of the chaotic good nature. Had a character last for years before I retired him and cranked up a fighter or something. |

I started playing "way back when," as part of all things, an english class year-long class project. By the end of the year, I was the only character left standing (I ended up killing everyone). My character even made it to the books. For those of you that still have your books, look me up under the 'Artifacts' section. My character was called Vecna, and I was one EVIL mo-fo. |

most definitely. it's Eowyn's time to shine. Lord of the Rings is where the name [MoR]Eowyn came from. so is ARWEN_EVENSTAR. [MoR] is 'Maiden of the Rohirrim'. - clemmentine ( ARWEN_EVENSTAR / [MoR]Eowyn / Trinity. / Maiden_Arashi ) |

yes! highly recommended. I have the 1-volume paperback version that has the story from the beginning to the end, with appendices. just finished reading the book recently. took me about 9 months to go from cover to cover (over a thousand pages total; I'm not a fast reader). if you've seen the movie but have not read the book (or vice versa), be aware that there are differences between the two. here's a site that has some stuff on the differences: http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/default.htm - clemmentine ( ARWEN_EVENSTAR / [MoR]Eowyn / Trinity. / Maiden_Arashi ) |
