Hi all, Anyone have any 3d Home Design Software recommendations? I have noticed that there are many different programs, and wondered if any of you have had positive impressions of a particular proggy. Domestic Mah |

I know this sounds both silly and typical of a UT player, but have you ever considered UnrealEd? Here are the advantages that I can think of: 1. cheap -- it should have came with UT! 2. available -- see # 1 3. If your design is good enough, we can frag in it some time! Only a half-serious suggestion... DS |

how do you know when you have played to much UT: You use UnrealEd to create interior decorating models for your home. |

Actually Deadsun is right to a point, whether he realizes it or not. UnrealEd actually does a lot of the same things as a 3d editor. Unfortunately it won't dimension anything or allow you to use a text editor. It's kinda hard to build a house without dimensions. |

yeah you need dimensions. Plus, in most of the design software, it looks like you can choose interior materials (like wood, carpet, etc) to get a feel for what your renovation will look like. No one in here has used this auto-caddish stuff? It would be funny though to recreate my house as a UT map for ut to play in. I don't think my wife would make you feel very welcome though ... |

Mah I've used AutoCad and SDRC Ideas in 3D design. In fact my last real engineering job was designing axle components for the Dana Corp utilizing 3D software. Unfortunately for you it was on high end software. I can't intelligibly comment on the lower end stuff. |

I once downloaded a CTF map that was called CTF Neighbourhoods or something like that. The two houses used as the bases were identical, and the interiors were duplicates of the authors own house, or so he said. I think he had a problem with the dimensions though, some of the rooms were very small. The author was Australian, and I got the map from an Australian UT site. |
