 Post subject: Brutal Killer did it.

I have played with him and he is a nice guy so I don't suspect foulplay. CG crashed around noon while Brutal Killer was connecting. It looked just like an attack accept that it started just a few seconds before he joined. Again, I don't think it was him on purpose but a bad com link between CG and him most likely crashed CG. It's back up now.!

His ping is really high, but how could that crash your server. I just played with him on NW and it seemed ok. Things did get a bit nasty when DM got on with hist 1500 ping.

Wasn't Brutal Killer referred to us by Lepoloo or one of the other overseas players? He is harmless, except for his tendency to cuss for no reason.

Hey Herm, now that you have more uplink bandwidth, does that mean the server can handle 16 players? :lol:

i have been pinging in the 70-90 range on average on his server...I think he could support more.

BIGI was that me couse i never noticed any spikes while playing the few rounds i did ???? and never seen my ping get that high although at the end of one of the rounds it was at around 300

Speaking of ping at CG, mine has actually been below 100 lately. That's quite incredible! So Herm, is it the faster processor, increased bandwidth or a combination of both? Anyway, I like. :)

According to the math of bandwidth and UT, I am maxed out at 12. I know I can go higher so why not. It may actually get laggy but I'm sure you will let me know. I'll set it higher next time it crashes. I was thinking about lowering it to 10 to be honest just to give it that got to hurry up and connect to play feeling before everyone else gets in. We'll see ok> The other reason was so I could dedicate even more bandwidth to the 10 players. Yes, the mother board and CPU and the rest of the stuff theat Schwantz gave me is why CG is able to run much faster than ever before. Not a single complaint from me, that is for sure!

hey herm, what do you have your MaxClientRate set at? I set mine up at 15000....at 182 up speed that can give me 12.13 players. I was wondering how much it would boost the play if I raised it back to 20000....

Wrong math Bigi. My MaxClientRate is 3000 which supports 12 players exactly and my upload is 360. At 180, you should use a 6 player max. The most I would ever set mine too is 5000. You will find the specs here at this link. See the performance section!

yeah i know where you r comin from bigi, it 20,000bytes, not bits. shame i know.

I did have mine set to 4kbps.

Iv set mine to 2500 for 10 ppl.

Im ganna get my upload increased.

Note, that anything set to beneath 2600 is supposed to be unplayable. 2600 is supposed to be the bare minimum. I've heard that 2900 is best.

16 players!!! Ahhhhh! wooohoooo!

I guess 12 is pretty damn good by itself, and we do fill it up often. Might be funny though to get a house of 16 and play fractal.
