what are you talking about Max? there is sound?! just kidding.. :D

well, some of you already know this.. I have no sound card so none of those sound tips are going to help me.. gives a new meaning to flying 'deaf' doesn't it? :lol very fine tips nonetheless Max.

like Hermskii, when I'm playing against newbies, I like to get up to a big lead, then back off and cheer them on to catch up. my thinking is that keep creaming a bunch of newbies is neither fun on my end nor is it fun on the part of the newbies. with a big lead, that allows me to play around like sneaking up on an unsuspecting guider and hit him with the almighty telefrag. open up the teleporters!

definitely Scify, always be on the look out for other missiles. if you pay attention, you can usually figure out where they are coming from and thus where someone is hiding.

I guess I should leave a tip here.. you CAN move while guiding the missile.. if properly used, not only is that a defensive move, it may also get you in position for a long spree..

- clemmentine (and, um, another name that has nothing to do with piggy..)

It sometimes pays to turn around after spawning and shoot the other way.

I play at 800X600, because higher than that brings only small improvements to the eye candy. It's also next to impossible to read the tiny print of someone's chat comments at the higher resolutions. And my white crosshair, (middle choice on the slider bar) looks too small at higher resolutions too.

I use 1280X1024 and the crosshairs look a little like this -.-

Also, I try to get rid of the useless stuff at the bottom of the screen like the weapons indicator. All I need to know is the score.

If I can't see it, I can't aim with it. Why didn't I buy the 19" monitor? :?: I found that the triangle works really well for redeemers, especially when aiming up a set of stairs or out a small window or something, but it's useless for all other weapons, and I visit Kid's and Apple/Cherry a lot. :|

Hmm... I was playin at 1280x1024 too...the only thing is when you do try to guide around an object or thru something like the windows in Agony , it made it tuffer cause the guiding crosshairs look HUGE!!!and it was real easy to hit the window sill instead of squeezing thru there!!..... what color do you prefer Jarg ???
cya later , Tri

ps.. been trying Orange myself some colors are hard to see on certain maps!!!

resolution - 1024 x 768 x 32 - text is small but acceptable to me

crosshairs - cyan colored 3-stick - looks something like

. |
./ \

the idea here is to minimize the obstruction made by the crosshairs; a dot is too small, a line gives you no sense in the other axis, and a real cross has 4 sticks!

HUD - everything small and to the sides and corners; no display of the row of weapons at the bottom - you can see perfectly what you have in your hand.. which means -

a big fat redeemer when in redeemer arena. I need the weapon visible because I play regular UT too.

- clemmentine (try and guess what other name I'm using; keep quiet if you know already)
