For some reason the site is down. I think they are doing an update to it but that is defiantely what your looking for. The full name of the program is Xlink Kai Evolution 7 but I think they have done a newer version since. So take a look around and Im sure you will find it. Great program considering GT4 was never ment to be played online and I've been able to play with Death about once or twice a week now since the game hit the stores. Also Teamspeak is a god send and makes for great SH@#$T talkin during the races.

Mapvote 3.03 seems to work just fine for what I use it for. I could tweak with it a bit more but I've never really had any grief out of it so I can't complain. Got to say a big thanks to ya bud. You have helped me out so much over the years when I've had trouble getting stuff to run right and you definately get a gold star in my book bro! Your basically the orginal (not counting Schwantz of course!) Deemer server and the one that got me hooked from the very start. Keep up the good work bro and tell Time Warner you want Business class and better upload! Enuff of this crappy 350k up crap which is basically 40k a sec if your uploading to one place.

Now to all the other people like LE and Peb which have always been kind to me and just good people in general.......I thank you for your kind words. Always glad to have a couple of good guys of this caliber around and hope to bump into yall guys from time to time.

You know, someone did say it right in here somewhere earlier. They said the players come in waves. It's true. CG goes totally dead several weeks at a time and then one day they come back and hang out again.

I actually don't think thegame is less fun or that players are turning into jerks so much as most of the regs have reached their nuking goals and have naturally moved on to other things that catch their fancy. Many of the new players just didn't mesh with each other as good as several of the old players did so long ago. I think the game is still heart pounding for them but they just don't realize that it is better to play if you have some sort of idea of how the other player reacts when they get nuked. That is what made it so funny for all of us I think.

Maybe they are all friends and are just on another forum besides mine and this one. I'm trying hard to give them a way to meld as we all did. I love my wife but she'll never give me the butterflies in my stomach the way she used to when we kissed the first several 1000 times. I think the term is desensitized. I still love her but it will never be like it was in the beginning. I think these Redeemer Servers are very much like that. The love is there but the excitement is reduced by being desensitized.

So now that you see how important the server is to people I hope you have that special feeling about it once again.

I started playin 99 in SRA. When there was only SRA. I sucked then and I suck now, but none-the-less I love the game just the same.

What I really miss is the exchange on the forums. That too has changed volumes. It seems now that it is just a posting area for when something bonks or when someone cant figure something out ( I am no alien to that).

Things changed when Herms server first went up. NO OFFENSE Herm, you are a great guy, but the politics that came with your server were never for me. $ocial politeness and grace can take a hike when it comes to just wanting to rant or blow off steam in either the servers or the forums. I mean fuck, what are we doing, nuking each other in to a pile of giblets. There is no civility or way to dull down violence. I never understood that. " I'll blow your ass up, but for christs sake dont swear!!!" Expletives, adjectives.....whatever.Please...I dont want to go into that whole 'family values' conversation again.

Again, Herm, yer a great guy and I have loved playin the server when I could.

For me , the bigot card was played by that zealot we all know, and when I was hoping for all to rally behind me in the denouncing of such SHIT, VERY few did. Right there and then I said good bye to the forums. I am still very aprehensive of posting even this in light of my anger.

BUT....

I still love UT. And I thank you l<id for keeping it up.

I have a bit of a pattern when I sign on to the internet. I check all the forums that I partake in (those that make me money), then shut down the browser and find a deemer server to hang in. CG always is either full, or when Herm started the lag thing, kicked me. So...I stayed in l<id's server. Very few people are in there. I hang for a while getting fragged by bots, and rarely encounter real people, but stay regardless. Like today, Don Don (who I am absolutely conviced hates my guts for some unknown reason of which i'de love to hear about) came in and played a bit, but I had some stuff to do and had to go. I'm always civil to him, but I can see how abandoning him in a server of two people could enflame what already seems to be a non-relationship between the two of us.

Still, visiting l<ids server is like a warm fire that I sit down to. SRA was a great thing. Schwantz...if you are still out there....did good to pollute us all with this vile addiction.

As far as the forums go...I have never been a good intellectual. I am a hot head, and doing good is what sates me. When i see bad, I go crazy, babbling on and on about pretty much nothing, when I feel like I am talking about anything important.

I am voting to keep the server up...like it matters what I think. But I love it. I've never had bad map cycles, never been in it when it crashed, never had any complaints other than my lame ass connection.

I will insert that I, like many of the oldsters, have moved on in different ways. Family is the only thing that is important to me. I have destroyed a few friendships because of my lack of attentiveness to others needs. But I really dont fuckin care. I am making art again, building some incredible firearms, shooting a lot, and involving my kids in all of it. The dad in me is forced to blend what I like, into what I want my kids to like. They'll evolve. They'll never fail to make me proud.

But......

I still find time to bop into a deemer server whenever I can. I cant MAKE time to do it. So I do it when I can. And I just hope all other oldsters can too.

Unfortunately I have bought a PSP, so now I am wrapped into it pretty much exclusively. I think I have always been a mobile player, I've had every GameBoy ever made (GB SUX), a SEGA game gear (SUX), but the PSP is UNREAL!!!!!

My only beef is the lax time between game releases. The games are deep. Just like a PS2 game, long play, hard stuff!!! I have only beat/lost interest in a few: Twisted Metal,Untold Legends, and Rengoku. I am starting a cool movie collection though (since I'm so po' I've only got HellBoy, Black Hawk Down, Resident Evil Apocolypse[mmmmm...Milla], Spiderman 2,Starship Troopers, Napoleon Dynamite, and Tron).Nothin like pullin a movie outta your pocket!!!Since they had the browser update I have been carrying it everywhere to acces the web via WiFi!!!! God if it was a TV, radio, phone, and PDA it'd be perfect!!!

I am such an exemplory bridge burner, but UT99 built a bridge that I was both happy to travel on and angered by its inconsistancies. Kind of like the fucked up way I think. I am pissed, but never really know exactly why all the time.

The thing I remember is that some months ago, CG AND Kid had people playing at the same time. Simply for the first reason : when one was fulled up, the other one was hosting guys that came later !

Then, another phenomenon became really boring and started to keep regs far from servers. I remember that even Herm posted about that. Some players (regulars but...) were always voting for the same 5 or 6 maps to be sure to make their show and be garanteed to win. This few choice repetitions, again and again and again made me play lesser and lesser !...
I warned some of them that it was killing the servers (I won't say any name here but I know they will recognize themselves).
But there had no way to change their behaviour and... HERE WE ARE. Too much is too much !!!

I remember Kid and Herm tried to make things to avoid what was happening (I remember no mapvote or taking off the maps that were killing the interest for this game)
Then... complaints started on forum to have those damn maps back... AND, the more fantastic in this event is taht the players that asked for the return of THEIR maps were the first guys coming rarelier and finally stopping to be "regulars".
The danger to play the same maps exists even today but as there are many noobs, the votes are a bit more various than before.

So, if we look to what's happening, right now some players are becoming "addicted" like we were and the number is growing up so I think that soon, one only server won't be enough and there will be again people for both (and even the third that some few guys know).

I'm confident in this wave phenomenon because I've already observed it (on CG, Kid's and even on NWRO two years ago !)

Today I think that CG has more people because it's a habit but Kid's server has different maps and less lag, each one has its assets. Let the time do his job and may be in a few more addicted people, the three servers will be full house regulary !...

That's what I think... me and myself...


PS regarding the lenght of the posts in this thread : this is called passion !

CG has a mapvote repeat limit of 10 I think meaning that you will never play the same map within 10 different maps of itself. I'm trying hard to fix lagg but I think it has plenty to do with where people live over-all. Agreed about overflow players and addicted ones too. I see Kids full often enough and CG with a few in there. I think the best part for Kids is the different maps. I need to play there soon and see what kind of ping and stuff I get there. I played it the other night when it was stuck on Agony map but I didn't pay attention. I know it was smooth though and I never see lagg on my box but then again, I play on a lan less than 2 feet away from the server. Yes, lots of passion here. Good to see.

Lag can be a rather large pain in the butt considering the locations of some of the players scattered around the world. BK is the first one that pops to mind but he knows with his distance from the the servers that his connection is bringing everybody else down in a sense. He is usually the first one to admit that or he has changed his name to something that points out to that fact like when I saw him once on as Brutal_Ping_Killer LOL. Over the years lag is just one of those horse pills you had to swallow every once in awhile to play the game but it is also what made the game just that more challenging. Heck Death which lives 20 minutes from my house and usually gets 40 or less ping is one of the biggest complainers when it comes to lag if you can believe it. Not the red flag type of lag but the intermentin hits you get here are there.

My best guess with the way this game handles multiplayer stuff is that the server sends information out to the players evenly. Like say you had 5 people on a server with broadband and 2 dialupers. The 5 BB people are all pinging at 80-110 and the dialupers are 250-300. From what I gather the server is gonna treat the 5 BB'ers just like the dialupers when it comes to sending out the information which gives the BB people since of lag. At least that is the theroy that has been running around in my head about it.

You're dam right Kid !!! Everytime I've been playing on your server with other ppl (pinging between 70 and 180 (me)) and BK enters the server, we ALL HAD LAG like never !!!
And as it is his own lag, he plays IN REAL TIME and all the others play when his lag allows us to diplay the scene so : he's perfectly easy to do what he wants and, for an example, I'm turning in the air before respawning when I sychronize BK's game !!!
That's horrible for the nerves !!!

Actually, my game went to crap after I went to broad band... I was so used to the lag that I could never get the timing right again.

I knew you'd appreciate the big FAH Q. I miss the old days Brutha. Perhaps the FAH should make a comeback. If only our MIA brutha would drop a line. It's just not the same without the whole family. Perhaps if the {FAH} threw down the gauntlet and challenged all to show up and get their asses handed to them on your server that would increase the traffic.

I whish some old regs were coming back regulary !!!... I miss some guys I played with (sould say "against") and that never came since one or two years but I understand Jargs reason (lag) when he says he's been bored !!...

Been away too long from this forum. Been kinda busy of late and I've been busy at my home over at DOU. Been absent from all the servers I used to hang out on as well. Hopefully, I'll find some time to get back and visit some destruction on the friendly folks at CG's and Kid's when I'm not on our own servers.

Kid, thanks for keeping your server up as long as it has. I'd hate to see it go but our lives go through constant change and you have to do what you feel is right. If Kidcapri's passes into history it will not be forgotten.

Hopefully I'll be seeing everyone around more often...
