I just read another article in a magazine recently that was reporting that there are still thousands upon thousands of completely unprotected computers out there. More and more of them have fast connections to the web too. With all of the bots trolling for unprotected computers out there, it's kinda scarey what the punks and thieves are getting up to. Apparently the Russian mafia and other gangs are using DoS attacks against large companies in a modern version of the protection racket: "Pay us off, or we'll do it again." :?
How is it that the word is not reaching these people that they are being used to help perpetrate crime? :doubt:

Was the attacker using other computers to shut down the servers? Or was he on his own, using a program of some kind?
