TechTV prettymuch says that it blows away the competition by leaps and bounds.... Time to start saving some cash, cause it ain't cheap.

I have to admit that I'm sorta glad to see Nvidia take the lead again. ATI makes me nervous for some reason though I'd still love to own a 9700 PRO card. That card was the first one they made that was leaps and bounds ahead of Nvidia and more so than Nvidia just did to ATI.

Herm, you can go ahead and buy that 9700 PRO card now if you want. The price should be down, and you won't be disappointed at how it renders UT 2004. It's swwweeeeeeet. :)

Don't forget that even though 3dfx basically killed their company themselves, it was Nvidia who bought them out and buried the technology; so therefore they suck, and their products should be shunned.

True about Nvidia doing that to 3DFX. I had forgotten what those Nvidia bastards did. Still, they did it fair and square. 3DFX didn't have any new technology on the horizen though. They just would have added more chips to the same board and this would have happened sooner or later. Did you ever see the Voodoo 5 6000??? It was actually a litle bigger than my Voodoo5 5500. Look:

http://home.covad.net/~pctoolbox/pictures.html

To meet todays standard, they's need about 8 more of the chip on it. That would mean 2 MORE power connectors for a total of 3.

Don't get me wrong. I loved my Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and I still love my Voodoo 5 5500! I just think that since Nvidia blew out 3DFX's doors and ran the show for a few years before ATI trumped them, that they must have plenty hidden away still and that single driver action they do is awesome. One driver for all the gforce cards.....sweeeet. If Voodoo could come back I'd buy one.

Well there are many unofficial updated driver packs for the Voodoo 3 3000, but when you go to the website that has them all, it's hard to decide which one is best. And no guarantees, of course. I downloaded the last official driver release from 3dfx that they have there, and let it go at that. Those drivers work fine.

WHAT?

Voodoo card 3 3500 AGP Video Card w/TV Tuner 129.00

Isn't that a little steep for an outdated 16 meg card? I have one of those, and I'll sell it for just $100. In the box with all of the original paperwork.
