Actually it won't be called that but it might as be. It will retain the origion CG name. Thanks to the Boss, I now have a Pentium III 866. My only wish the whole time I've had CG was to be able to run it dedicated on a PIII 500 or better. Thanks to Schwantz, this is about to happen. If you haven't noticed, CG and HOH are down right now. The old CG server has been dismantled and scrapped. HOH won't be back up for at least six months. I'm installing the OS to the new server as we speak. Schwantz gave me the MOBO, the PIII 866, 512MB PC 133 ram, a video card, a network card, a cd with all the drivers and extra stuff, a heatsink + fan and lastly his trust that I'd build him a sweet server with lots of Deck maps! I'm honored, shocked and READY!!! This new box is more than three times faster and has three times the HDD space and three times the ram. This will make me try three times harder to bring you the best UT Redeemer Arena server that I can. Thank you very much Boss and I will get this server online just as soon as I can! I hope this will be everything I hoped it would be. Have a good one all.

That is great Herm. I am glad to be part of a group as dedicated as this one. I hope to contribute in any way I can.

Good luck setting that up. Thanks Schwantz and Hermski.

Hey, how about OSX, now that you own a copy?

My thanks to both bosses for your generosity to our little group. It is appreciated. :D

In fact, I can feel my essence becoming purer just at the thought of a cool new CG to play on!

Hehe, I asked this before, and never got an answer! Is it possible to put OSX onto a PC that isn't a Mac? It's Linux based, so why not? :|

I'll look to see if CG is up soon Herm. If it is, I'll be glad to help you check it out! :)

I thought OSX was based on NextStep, a Mach derivate ...

Actually, I meant UNIX based. At least that's what I read or heard somewhere. :?

I don't know about the Unix stuff but i do know that I'm done with the server. I am currently running last second checks on it and then I'll put it up. I think I have about an hour to go with it. I haven't tested for heat issues yet either since the case has been this whole time I've been working on it. I don't think Pentiums get hot like AMDs do. OK, enough of all of that. I hope to see you on it soon and remember, it hasn't been truly tested until you freaks get on all at the same time. I hope to see you there! Later!

Alrighty then! It took a few hours longer than I thought but it's up and running. I tested with Death Inc., Vette, Butter Cup, and one or two others. Between matches, many of the had pings in the 20's! I'm not saying you will but I think the new box seems to be holding up just fine in it's first 10 minutes of server duty. Vette wanted me to say "Hi" to everyone by the way.

The server is a perfect copy of CG literally. All the high scores stayed, everything is exactly like before, just running from a much better box now. Please update here on your results once you've tried it out. The map change is noticably faster than it was before, so long as everyone already has the map it changes to.

Now I'm going to go hunting for single file Deck maps for the Boss. I'm not going to install them until the server crashes. I want to see how long it goes from the first boot. At the point I had taken the last CG down, it had run for about a week without a hiccup. Later!
