CUSTOM SKIN QUESTION

just a quick question that i never figured out much of.
how can a lot of the folks in the server get those trippy animated custom skins or even non-animated custom skins?
i tried to d/l a few "made-by-ut players" skins off some sites and go into the server and the skins wouldnt work, and it would change to a regular default ut skin. are only some forms of custom skins allowed on the server or am i missing something like ... magic? :?

ahh, it doesnt work since i use a mac to play UT and that is a windows file. oh well...

Skins have to be loaded on the server for them to be viewable during a online game. The wacked skins you see on some of our Redeemer servers is a special program that actually tricks the server into sending certain textures that are default but when used by the program appear to be a custon skin. Another Mac user eh? Welcome anyways! I'm sure all of the Mac lovers here will give you the special treatment. It's like you Mac folks are in a club or something. Do you all meet up at the Bar-B-Que that the makers of Saturn cars throw every year? LOL. Does Mac send you and your Mac a Birthday Card each year? Saturn owners get B-Day cards for there car. That's funny I think.

i have a pc too that i just got but ut is on this comp (the mac), this is my main one.
and i never have even touched a saturn before. :?

i will tell you how to get it at the beginning of this forum you will see exboard posts you need to go there and go to page 9 or 10 the jargonaut placed the post called the skin changer link inside that post is the link to it good luck and if you need help getting it to work let me know
note some skins work online and some don't some work with different characters too

that's the same file as the other one that doesn't work on this comp of mine. :(
