1.5 pounds per play is kinda pricey. I couldn't find out if the winnings are tax free or not. But it makes no difference, since I'm not a resident anyway. :blackeye: :cyclopsani:

We have lottos in every price catagory now. 50 cents, $1, and $2 per "line".
The one I like is the Super 7 lotto. It is $2 a play, but for every "line" of numbers you buy, the computer generates two more for you. It works out to 66 cents a play.

The lotto revenue goes straight into the government coffers, so the prizes are not taxed. They get such a large share of the money now, that I don't expect they'd dare to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, either. :duckie:

Well, yes and no. In Ontario it depends on your income. There's been a fee tacked on to your income tax. Its size depends on your taxable income. The fee uses a sliding scale whereby the poor pay nothing, while the rich pay a few hundred a year for family coverage.

lol a few hundred?! Forgive me, Nameless. You're right -- technically, it's not _free_ for the rich! Is this the case in the UK, Dark? When I lived there, and it was over 10 years ago, there was universal health care.

No taxation without medication!

I believe the top amount is $400. What would it cost a self employed person of say, 35 years of age, for full family health coverage in the USA?

The way i see it you get both the poor get the free and the rich can get the free the rich can also pay but then they usually get the free but moved up the ladder closer to the front

Like they charge £35 for an injection private to you and then they pay £5 NHS( the free system here)
