I'm pleased to mention that I have reconnected with 3 of my old shipmates from my Navy days this year alone. They have all found me through Militarry web sites that I'm affiliated with. It is great to hear how well they all seem to be doing though I'm a little jealous. Most went on to get there degree in something. I never could stand school much and thus never got a degree. I might go back since I am a Junior in college credit wise. Seems to be too big of a pain in the butt. I have great respect for anyone who actually got any kind of a degree. I just wanted to share a little bit of joy since each of these old buddies has commented on how much of a positive effect I had on their careers. One is now a E-7 in the Navy after only 9 years. He said he modeled himself after me and thanked me for training him the way I did and defending him from all of the old timers who struggled with being nice to this skinny, old little New Yorker. He was about 30 while we were all about 20. We called him Grampa since he was the oldest. That's all for now. I'm just excited that these folks made the effort to find me and reconnect. I would have died for these boys as they would have for me. We are all Desert Storm Vets too. Most of us were Damage Control Specialist.

Thank you for doing your part Herm. If I had known you were a Vet I certainly wouldn't have busted your balls so much in the past. My deepest and most heart felt apologies. Honestly.

Cool Herm.

You never mentioned that you were a vet that I can recall before. Certainly not that you were in the Gulf War. I'm glad you were able to hook up with your old Navy buddies. I can well imagine how special this must be for you. Thanks for sharing.

Great to have pals, Herminator 8)

Herm has mentioned his service several times, especially when Iceman was around and the duct-tape stories were flying.

I did my part in the National Guard.

Ah yes the good old days! I was a nuclear trained machinist mate on a submarine. I got to work on the reactor and auxilliary systems. I might be the only one here who might have seen an actual nuke, but I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons aboard US naval vessels.

I really wish I had broadband. 26.3k SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I was in charge of a unit with 25 10-ton trucks in the german army. We all meet once in a while and talk about the old times, when the russians were still right there on th eother side.
