I have notice if I enable eax/hw in ut2k4 it kills my fps. Is this normal? Also what is the system driver in ut2k4 options do?

You would think that it would help your FPS if the hardware is rendering the sound... Have you tried Creative's site for a patch?

It's up to date patch wise but even enabled it makes a popping noise just doesn't sound right sometimes. I had my sound sound at 96khz and 24bits but seems to make it lag more so I set it back to 48khz/16bits. I took the sound card out and checked my frame rates and they seem to go up. Right now I'm using 3d audio under ut2k4 settings. Maybe I'm not setting it up right but I don't think the options listed for eax are mostly reverb and effects for recording. I had problems with my last creative card why I bought another one recently is beyond me. Creatives tech support is email only I believe I would like to actually talk to someone for once. I fixed my doom3 problems when exiting it would freeze I downloaded the 65.73 drivers why the 61.77/61.76 drivers wont work I still cant figure it out.

I had an Audigy in this rig. I think it sucked. I went out and got myself a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Now everything runs fine and sounds MUCH better.
No more Creative for me :)

I have the audigy 2 . I pretty much love it. I use the setting that includes eax. I'm glad to say that I'm having no trouble. I have it hooked up to my creative 6.1 surround sound system. Not nearly as loud or crisp as my old Z560's but I never play with it turned up like that anyway.

It doesnt effect your fps at all damn. I heard audigy 2 is better than le. I tried it again and sure enough took at least 20 of my fps. What are your settings herm maybe Im missing something. What do you have the output audio quality set at. If I put it to 96/24 it makes it worse urgh. Well I'll be selling it soon I guess damit..... Anything in bios maybe creative said to enable fastwrites/spread spectrum, pci latency as far as changing values, and disable plug/play hmmm.....

You know, I don't know about whether I lose FPS or not. I haven't set it both ways and run the flyby. Maybe I am losing fps but I'd say it's worth it since I apparently can't tell but do love the surround sound. Where did you go to see what settings you had?
