I have just realized today that I have been telling you guys to download the "wrong" map pack for Monster Hunt all this time. I said that it would have everything you needed in the way of maps. I'm sorry to say that the 13.5 MB map pack I have been telling you about has nowhere near all of the maps you will need to play this mod without doing a lot of downloading directly off of the servers.
Perhaps you were wondering why you didn't have everything? Now you know. :oops: :|

The map pack you want is 58 MB in size. It contains 78 maps. I think those of you on 56k will need a download manager for sure on this one! How long would it take to d/l? Hopefully not more than overnight. I suppose if it takes a very long time, you could start the download at bed time, and leave it going while you were at work all the next day? :?

I have played a few practive games and a few online games. All I can say is it is FUN! First time I've ever seen Giant Mantas. Giant evil soldier thingies too. Very fun! Let me know when we can meet up. I played on one server that had fast redirects. The other needed a password.

if i have enough space i will try to put it on my web-space im not sure how much room i have though i will look tonight.
if the d/load isnt that slow i wont bother but i will have it on computer so if anyone will need it i can aim it or msn i cant e-mail it my outgoing is hotmail so the file will be to big

Hehehehe. FUN. Here is what I did just for the fun of it. I went into the maps folder and found one that started with MH. I renamed it to start with DM. Then I started the game and went into a practice game where I turned the number of bots to zero and jacked the frag count up to 100 along with the time limit. It's just you against the monsters. The only problem is once you finish a round, it doesn't tell you your done. You just have to figure it out and start another round. FUN!!!

The speed from that Japanese web site is actually quite good. It's the pack's file size that is dismaying. But it has just about everything you need.
Last night, for the first time, I had to d/l a map from the server. Fortunately it was the one with the fast downloads.

Once you have the installed the mod and patch, just select a Monster Hunt game while practice mode. I did that one night when I got so pissed that we could never finish a certain map in time. I just put no time limit and spent over an hour blasting away. I finally got to the end, but it was tough going for one player.
I think I've tried the Redeemer Arena mutator in a Monster Hunt practice session too! :wink:

Two of the servers are password protected at this time. I gave my word to the AFU clan that I would not reveal theirs. To play on their server you must ask for it at their own forum. Not a problem though, they readily gave it to me. However I usually only play there when it's empty of clan members, since I'm a guest.

The Monster Hunt! server merely asks that you go to their website to get the password. Since we have a small audience here I don't think it will ruffle too many feathers to give it to you directly: monsterhunt. ;)
